We are all deeply affected and moved by visual stimuli. Images, both still and moving, (especially those from the natural world), can captivate us and hold us spellbound. Like the plummage of a bird seeking a mate, the graphic designer's mission is to attract our eyes and hold our attention. Every product we buy has packaging and labeling (and often on-screen and printed marketing documents) designed to draw us closer by stimulating our visual sense. This is an especially difficult task for graphic designers, because the product packaging and labeling will swim in a sea of products, yet must somehow stand out. At the same time, consumers have grown accustomed to a high level of professionalism in the graphic arts, and have an evolved and educated sense of artistry. So, cheap tricks, such as blinking text, gaudy images, and shocking colors, will have the opposite effect, and the consumer may actually be repelled.

At 7th Sense Multimedia, we enjoy the challenge of creating and modifying finely-tuned graphic elements, that achieve the goal of each graphic element. Whether your graphics will ultimately be displayed for a few dozen employees on your intranet, a few thousand prospective customers on your brochure, or a few million viewers on the World Wide Web, we will work with you to bring powerful, effective, appropriate, and memorable graphics to your target audience.

Our tool box includes Adobe Photoshop CS®, Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe Acrobat Professional®, Adobe Premiere®, Macromedia Fireworks MX®, Macromedia Flash MX Professional®, Macromedia Freehand MX®, Caligari trueSpace®, Corel Painter®, Jasc/Corel Paint Shop Pro®, and Microangelo Studio®. We work with Pantone Colorvision® products to ensure that our equipment is fully calibrated to industry standard specifications. We provide camera ready art, print ready files, web-ready graphics, and desktop-ready graphics in just about any graphics file format imaginable. Each project file is delivered (two copies, burned onto CD) in the highest resolution appropriate for its destination. FTP file upload, direct to your chosen print house, is also standard operating procedure for us, whenever graphics are destined for a printer out of the immediate area.

Screen Graphics
Screen graphics include everything seen on a monitor, from small elements (such as icons), to subtle elements (backgrounds, gradients, lighting, shading) to foreground elements (titles, text, symbols, and images), as well as interactive elements like buttons. Resolutions can vary, especially if the image will ever need to be zoomed or printed, but generally these screen images and graphics do not need to exceed 96dpi-104dpi. Small screen elements, such as icons, can be especially tricky because it is so difficult to infuse meaningful symbolism into so few pixels. Each overall screen must be designed with special consideration to the specific data presented and to the desired flow from element to element. Screen graphics are essential elements of presentations, kiosk displays, web sites, web advertisements, and software applications. At 7th Sense Multimedia, we have a special affinity for screen graphics, and pride ourselves in providing beautiful and cohesive screens that treat the viewer and user with artistry. We believe that this is often overlooked in user interface designs, or poorly executed. We feel that clear, intuitive, and attractive screens are a major key to the success of your project, and would love the opportunity to assist you with your screen graphics.

Print Graphics
Print graphics include all graphic elements with a print destination. Examples include posters, postcards, business cards, brochures, and advertisements. These files are generally all inclusive of the individual elements (text, background, images, etc.), but are usually stored in files with individual elements in layers. The layering technique allows the graphic designer to modify and move elements, and change the advertising copy right up until the minute the file is delivered to the printing house. Typically, medium resolution digital proofs are made available to the client, to allow the client to proofread and verify that the layout is ready for print. Files destined for printers are generally in the 240dpi to 300dpi range, and these files can be quite large.

Digital Photography
We don't shoot weddings or graduation photos, we don't consider 7th Sense Multimedia to be a dedicated photograpic studio, nor would we consider ourselves as event or location photographers. We do have some relatively sophisticated digital camera equipment, transportable studio lighting (studio lights with softboxes), and the skills to use them. When you need a few shots (product, location, or head shots) to complete a project, but not enough photographic work to warrant hiring a dedicated photographer or photographic studio, we can handle the task. Because our level of understanding of the processes involved in photography and the optical limitations of the equipment (both film and digital), we interface well with dedicated professional photographers. In fact, we may be able to help you get more from them, in less time and at a lower cost. We also understand equipment limitations, and we know when specialized photographic equipment is essential to properly capture a shot. We will inform you when it is time to work with one of our affiliated professional photographers (or yours.)

Please note that these images are relatively low resolution copies, and that each image has undergone at least two JPEG compressions, which takes some of the pizzaz out of the images. I also apologize in advance for the ugly copyright notices inserted within an area of each picture that makes it more of a hassle for image piracy.

Digital Darkroom
The digital darkroom is an essential part of the photographic process. Virtually every photographic image needs to be digitally processed, to bring the photo to its full potential. Colors can be corrected or enhanced, images or portions of images can be sharpened or softened, extraneous elements can be subdued or eliminated, and color and gray scale tone gradations can be optimized. Images can be retouched, cropped, rotated, lightened, darkened, contrast adjusted, white balanced, and resized. Ultimately, the image can be output in whatever file format (.TIF/.TIFF, .JPG, .PNG, .EPS, .TGA, .EMF, .PSD, .GIF, etc.) is required or best suited for the task, and can be optimized and digitally compressed when required. At 7th Sense Multimedia, we have sophisticated digital darkroom tools, as well as the necessary skills and artistic discernment, for complete control of your photographic images, from the raw images to their final output files.

Animation
When you need a feature length animated movie from an Academy Award winning animation company, call Pixar Animation Studios. When you need a Flash movie, or animated GIF graphic, give us a call. Flash movies can be as simple or as complex as you want, but Flash does have some limitations, especially in rendering 3-D objects. We are also able to do some of our 3-D work in a 3-D animation program (Caligari trueSpace®) and convert that to a Flash movie. Used as a brief introduction to a web site, Flash movies can be a very effective way to break the ice or set the tone for your site. It is critical that the movie file is small enough to download to your target audience's computers a just a few seconds, or you will simply annoy your visitors. Animated GIF images can be among the most irritating objects on the Internet, especially if set to run in an endless loop. However, if animated GIFs are artistically designed and tastefully executed, they can draw the viewer's eye and focus the visitor's attention. You know the audience that you are trying to reach, and when you decide that a Flash movie or animated GIF will serve your purpose, allow 7th Sense Multimedia to help you to develop bandwidth-sensitive, artistic and effective moving imagry.
